FEATURED BLOCKS – NOTES
SECTION TWO
As above except this pulls in graphic image files for the backgrounds (I’ve added a dozen coloured ‘slabs’ to the media library, each with ‘English’ names e.g. sky blue etc.). So you still get editable text but this time you don’t enter the colour as a hex number in admin, instead you pull in the graphic as a background (it goes behind the live, SEO-friendly text). The benefit of this method over the one above is that a) you don’t have to use hex codes for the colours (those could lead to unintended errors if you slip with a keystroke) and b) if later we decide to alter ALL the ‘sky blue’ rectangles, we can do them all in one go by swapping the image colour via FTP (it’s regrettably not possible to do it as a substitution to update ALL images in one go via admin – but we can via FTP). Then all sky blue rectangles should update all in one go (unlike the hex colour entry method above). A little fiddly but it would be way quicker than doing them one by one.
